Promo codes and access codes

Promo codes let you offer discounts to specific buyers. Access codes unlock hidden ticket types that aren't visible to the general public.

Creating a promo code

  1. Go to Ticket types and scroll to the Promo codes section
  2. Click Add promo code
  3. Choose the type:
    • Discount code — reduces the price of one or more ticket types
    • Access code — reveals hidden ticket types

Discount codes

Set a discount as either a fixed amount (e.g. $10 off) or a percentage (e.g. 20% off).

Choose which ticket types the code applies to — all of them, or specific ones only.

You can set a usage limit to cap how many times the code can be used. Leave it blank for unlimited uses.

Optionally set a start date so the code isn't active until a certain point — useful for early-bird windows.

Access codes

Access codes are paired with ticket types you've marked as hidden. A hidden ticket type doesn't appear on the public event page. When someone enters the access code at checkout, the hidden ticket type becomes visible and purchasable.

Use this for:

  • Member-only or VIP ticket tiers
  • Press or sponsor tickets
  • Staff passes

How buyers use codes

At checkout, there's a Promo or access code field. Buyers enter the code and the discount is applied or the hidden ticket becomes visible.

Tracking usage

You can see how many times each code has been used from the Promo codes section of your ticket types page.
