Enable a waitlist for sold-out events
When your event sells out, a waitlist lets interested people sign up so you can reach them if tickets become available again.
Enabling the waitlist
- Go to your event and open the Waitlist tab in the sidebar
- The waitlist is automatically active once your tickets are sold out
When all ticket types are at capacity, the event page shows a "Join the waitlist" option instead of a buy button. Visitors enter their name and email to sign up.
Viewing waitlist entries
From the Waitlist tab, you can see everyone who has signed up — their name, email address, and the date they joined. The list is ordered from earliest to most recent.
Reaching out to waitlisted people
Matter Tickets doesn't automatically notify waitlist members if tickets open up — that's up to you. From the waitlist view, you can copy all email addresses to reach out directly.
Common scenarios:
- Someone cancels and you want to offer their spot to the next person on the list
- You add capacity and want to let waitlisted people know tickets are available again
- Your event has ended and you're planning a follow-up
Turning off the waitlist
The waitlist option disappears automatically if you increase your ticket quantity and tickets become available again. You don't need to manually toggle it off.
