Can I edit my event after it's published?

Yes — most things can be changed at any time, even after tickets have been sold. Changes take effect immediately on your live event page.

What you can always change

  • Event title, summary, and description
  • Cover image
  • Date, time, and venue
  • Ticket type names and descriptions
  • Ticket quantities (increase or decrease)
  • Add new ticket types
  • Promo codes and access codes
  • Refund policy
  • Charity giving settings

What to be careful with

Changing the price of a ticket type — the new price only applies to future purchases. Existing orders are not affected and will not be re-charged or refunded automatically. If you want to issue a partial refund for a price drop, you'll need to handle that manually per order.

Reducing quantities below what's already sold — you can't set a quantity lower than the number already sold for that ticket type. The minimum you can set is the current sold count.

Deleting a ticket type with existing orders — you can't delete a ticket type once orders exist for it. You can set its quantity to 0 to stop further sales, or hide it with an access code.

Notifying buyers of changes

Matter Tickets doesn't automatically notify buyers when you update your event. If you change something significant — like the date or venue — it's good practice to email your attendees directly to let them know.
