Create your first event

Getting your first event live on Matter Tickets takes about ten minutes. Here's the full process from start to finish.

Step 1 — Sign in and open the dashboard

Log in at mattertickets.com and you'll land on your organizer dashboard. Click New event to begin.

Step 2 — Add your event information

Fill in the basics:

  • Title — Keep it specific. "Spring Craft Market — Brooklyn" beats "Craft Market."
  • Summary — One sentence that appears under the title on the event listing.
  • Description — Tell people what to expect, what's included, and why they should come. You can use bold text, bullet points, and links.
  • Category — Choose the type that fits best.
  • Date and time — Set the start and end time in your local timezone.
  • Venue — Address of the venue.
  • Cover image — A good image makes a big difference. Aim for something at least 1200px wide.

Step 3 — Set up your ticket types

Head to Ticket types in the sidebar. Click Add ticket type and fill in:

  • Name (e.g. "General Admission," "VIP," "Early Bird")
  • Price — or set it to free
  • Quantity — leave blank for unlimited

Step 4 — Configure payments

Go to Payment settings to connect Stripe (required for paid events) and optionally enable sales tax. See how to connect Stripe.

Step 5 — Review and publish

Click Review & publish to run through a final checklist. You can publish immediately or schedule your event to go live at a specific date and time.

Once published, your event page is live and ready to share.
