Reserve tickets with holds
A hold reserves a block of tickets for a specific purpose — staff passes, sponsor allocations, VIP guests — without removing them from your overall event capacity or making them purchasable by the public.
How holds work
Holds sit on top of a ticket type's total quantity. If you have 200 General Admission tickets and place a hold for 20, only 180 are available for public sale. The 20 held tickets won't appear as available at checkout.
You can label each hold so you know what it's for (e.g. "Staff," "Sponsors," "Press").
Creating a hold
- Go to Ticket types and scroll to the Holds section
- Click Add hold
- Choose the ticket type the hold applies to
- Enter a label and the number of tickets to reserve
Releasing a hold
If you no longer need the reserved tickets, delete the hold. Those tickets become available for public purchase immediately.
Distributing held tickets
Holds don't automatically issue tickets to anyone — they just set aside inventory. To give out the reserved tickets, you'd typically give recipients a promo code with an access code that unlocks a hidden ticket type, or manage the distribution manually.
